The conference on tourism and the audiovisual industry will be organized by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) in collaboration with UNWTO affiliate members: EGEDA, the Quintana Roo Tourism Promotion Council and the Xcaret group, with the support of the Barceló Hotel & Resorts group. The event will be integrated into the vast program of PlatinoIndustria- Forum for audiovisual, tourism and education and the Platinum Xcaret Awards 2020 Gala, which will be held under the theme “17 Awards – 17 sustainable development goals”.

PlatinoIndustria will bring together government representatives, local administrations responsible for the areas of culture and tourism and affiliate members of UNWTO – in particular destination management bodies and organizations – together with over 300 film producers and 700 professionals in the audiovisual sector.

The conference will focus on the different aspects of the connection between tourism, the film industry and the promotion of sustainable development objectives (SDGs), with presentations and debates on cultural tourism, the beneficial impact of cinema on promoting tourism, strengthening the competitiveness of a destination and promotion of SDGs in films.
